Spanish company offers staff 30-minute daily masturbation breaks

BARCELONA, SPAIN — A Spanish adult entertainment company, Erika Lust Films, has instituted a unique workplace policy: staff are now offered a daily 30-minute masturbation break to help combat stress and improve productivity.
The initiative, first introduced in 2022 by company founder Erika Lust, aims to foster a more relaxed and positive work environment.
Private ‘masturbation stations’ and supported practice
Erika Lust Films, based in Barcelona, has taken the initiative further by establishing private “masturbation stations” within its offices to ensure employee privacy and comfort. The initiative has even gained the support of sex toy manufacturers, who provide the company with products to aid employees during their breaks.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Erika Lust addressed the topic, saying, “The truth is masturbation can help people manage stress, regulate their sleep, and connect with their body and sexual desires, among other advantages.”
Employee and public reactions to new break policy
Employees have responded positively to the policy, reporting noticeable shifts in workplace atmosphere. One staff member shared with Indy100, “The added breaks promote less aggression and more productivity in the workplace.”
Such findings are not isolated. A survey of over 1,000 adults suggested that one in 20 people admitted to masturbating at work, highlighting the relevance of Lust’s initiative beyond her own industry.
Health advocates support wellness benefits of self-pleasure
Advocates of the policy point to a growing body of research linking masturbation and intimacy to several health benefits, such as reductions in blood pressure and improved mood.
According to health sources like Healthline, self-pleasure can stimulate the release of beneficial hormones, including dopamine, oxytocin, testosterone, and prolactin, which are known to reduce stress and elevate well-being.
