Taiwan recruits IT talents from Malaysia, Singapore

Taiwan’s National Development Council flew to Malaysia and Singapore carrying a goal to recruit 60,000 foreign professionals by 2030 and to bolster the employment gold card system.
The delegation offered job caravans that were attended by executives from semiconductor companies along with IT startups.
Information about the Employment Gold Card System —access that makes moving to Taiwan as an international professional convenient — was also handed.
Moreover, attendees were also presented with employment prospects with students and professionals from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and Universiti Malaya.
According to Vice Chairman You Jinhua, the Taiwanese government implemented the ‘Law on the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals’ in 2018 to promote the employment gold card system.
Currently, nearly 6,000 employment gold cards have been issued with cardholders allowed to freely enter and exit, search for jobs, work or investments, or live in Taiwan directly without looking for work.
The council signed a memorandum with the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwanese Universities to bolster the circulation and exchange of professionals between the two countries and to further the ties between them.
