TCS hires 44K fresh grads in FY23

MUMBAI, INDIA — Multinational IT services and consulting firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) onboarded over 44,000 fresh graduates and its highest-ever number of experienced professionals in India for FY2023.
TCS Chief HR officer Milind Lakkad said that the firm added 22,600 employees on a net basis while also doubling down on organic talent development, obtaining over 53,000 cloud certifications during the year, bringing the total to more than 110,000 workers certified on hyperscaler platforms.
“As we grow the TCS family, I want to call out the stellar role played by our recruitment team in swiftly scaling up hiring and onboarding the best available talent, enabling TCS to meet its delivery commitments and capture growth,” added Lakkad.
He also emphasized that the firm will honor all job offers made with further plans to create 40,000 campus offers to freshers in FY2023-2024.
TCS’s total workforce is 614,795 as of March 31, 2023. Its IT services attrition for the past twelve months continued to trend down and is now at 20.1%.
However, some reports pointed out that FY2023’s net headcount is TCS’ lowest since FY2015. The tech giant added 40,185 workers in FY21, 24,179 in FY20, and 29,287 in FY19.
