TCS records over 2.3K employees in Uruguay

Multinational IT services and consulting firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is closing the year with over 2,300 employees in its Uruguay operations.
This year alone, TCS was able to add 400 professionals to its local workforce due to its goIT talent development program. Almost half of their recruits had undergone training at the center.
The India-based tech giant first launched its training center in the country’s capital Montevideo in 2003. Today, most of its workforce in Uruguay are its former students.
A report by a local news outlet 180.com said that TCS has encouraged local graduates to start a career in IT services — many of which even launched their startups.
TCS currently has operations across eight countries in Latin America, reaching a total headcount of 18,000 in the region.
