TCS expands European delivery network with new Romania office

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA — Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has inaugurated a new office in Bucharest, Romania, significantly expanding its European delivery network.
The strategic facility, located in the Floreasca business district, is designed to bolster the company’s digital engineering capabilities across its clients.
Indian Ambassador to Romania, Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, notes, “This new office not only signifies a deepening of economic ties between India and Romania but also highlights their combined contribution to the global technology landscape.”
TCS ranked #8 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
TCS bets on Romanian talent, digital engineering hub
TCS’s growth is an investment in Romania’s human capital, and the country has become a hub of high-tech operations within the company’s global structure.
The new Bucharest office is clearly identified as a digital engineering service center, and more than 95% of its workforce is Romanian nationals.
This emphasis on local talent is not by chance but a strategic move to harness regional talent and deliver complex projects to a global client base, further integrating Romania into the global technology value chain.
There is another difference with this investment: a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) innovation hub is being launched in Bucharest. It is a niche, rapidly expanding facility that will accommodate international motor vehicle clients by helping them adopt new mobility technology.
By concentrating such niche, forward-looking engineering capabilities in Romania, TCS is betting on the country’s “vibrant talent pool, particularly in engineering,” as noted by Prabal Datta, General Manager and Delivery Center Head at TCS Eastern Europe, to drive innovation in specific industrial domains, moving beyond general IT services to specialized digital engineering leadership.
TCS strengthens European delivery network from Bucharest
The Bucharest office is a critical component of TCS’s structured European delivery strategy, which prioritizes proximity and cultural alignment to serve its extensive client base on the continent.
This network now spans more than 15,000 professionals across 20 countries, enabling TCS to deliver what it terms hyper-connected services to over 350 European customers.
The growth is directly related to the demand for constant, close-shore operations that meet regional needs in terms of compliance, language, and business culture.
The model also ensures that TCS can provide customized services and meet global requirements, which has defined the company as a reliable IT partner in Europe over the past four decades.
As Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, Head of Europe at TCS, stressed, “This expansion in Bucharest is a testament to our unwavering commitment to strengthening our European delivery network and delivering services tailored to the unique needs of our customers.
