Tech, finance, and customer service skills are the most in-demand — Randstad study

A new study from talent solutions firm Randstad Sourceright revealed that there is still an “unrelenting demand” for tech skills, financial management, and customer service professionals in today’s workforce.
At the same time, the demand for soft skills — such as communication, teamwork, and creativity — rose 51% year-on-year.
For AI and machine learning roles, nearly 62% of job postings seek talent with collaboration, dexterity, and multitasking skills. Critical thinking and research are highly sought-after skills in cloud computing, with an average 73% increase in demand for these competencies.
“Given today’s complicated labor trends, companies must rely on data-driven market intelligence to guide their talent strategies,” said Randstad Sourceright Global CEO Mike Smith.
The paper also suggested that employers can increase their access to tech talent by offering remote work opportunities. As for customer-facing employees, Randstad suggested sourcing professionals working in sales and business development, where skills are transferable.
Smith stated that “now is the time for employers to foster a resilient and adaptive workforce by doubling down on the talent experience, retention and reskilling.
“Finding opportunities to tap adjacent and transferable skills for the most in-demand roles will prove a critical means for overcoming talent scarcity,” he added.
