Tech Mahindra appoints new CEO after Gurnani retirement

PUNE, INDIA — Information technology (IT) firm Tech Mahindra Ltd. (Tech Mahindra) has appointed Mohit Joshi as its new chief executive officer (CEO), following the retirement of C.P. Gurnani, its longtime managing director and CEO.
Prior to being appointed as CEO, Joshi was the company’s managing director and CEO designate. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Joshi was with Infosys Ltd. for 22 years and held multiple executive positions, most notably the company’s president for seven years.
Gurnani officially steps down after 19 years in the company, with 14 years as its chief.
“The actors change, the roles get passed on, the show goes on,” Gurnani said on LinkedIn.
“That’s how teams win – that’s how you will win. This is about collaborative brilliance. Your life partner, your best friend, your favorite colleague, your mentor, your skills, knowledge, networks – they’re your team. You may run win [sic] without them, but you won’t go a long distance. Build your team.”
This is the most recent shakeup within Tech Mahinda’s executive tree. In November the IT firm appointed Peeyush Dubey as its new chief marketing officer (CMO). Dubey brought over a decade of experience at Infosys and previous roles at Mindtree and LTI Infotech.
