Tech Mahindra partners with Strangeworks on quantum solutions

PUNE, INDIA, and TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Tech Mahindra, a global technology consulting firm, has entered a strategic partnership with Strangeworks, a company specializing in quantum software, to deliver advanced optimization solutions for key industries.
The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), will leverage Strangeworks’ quantum computing platform and Tech Mahindra’s domain expertise to address complex challenges in finance, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and energy.
Tech Mahindra deepens quantum innovation strategy
Tech Mahindra, a global IT consulting and digital transformation services provider with over 152,000 professionals, provides a full spectrum of services from AI and cloud to engineering for more than 1,100 clients worldwide, reporting annual revenues consistently over $6 billion as part of the storied Mahindra Group.
It can also be recalled that Tech Mahindra recently partnered with Arviem to embed real-time IoT cargo monitoring into its platforms, a strategic move that aligns with its pattern of partnering with niche tech firms, such as its quantum MOU with Strangeworks, to integrate specialized capabilities for its global enterprise base swiftly.
Tech Mahindra ranked #9 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
On the other hand, Strangeworks, a quantum software firm based in Austin, Texas, operates a catalog of quantum and quantum-inspired computing resources on its cloud platform, using AI-powered workflows to help enterprises solve complex problems and achieve immediate return on investment (ROI).
Quantum partnership targets high-value enterprise problems
This cooperation is a direct response to the growing computational needs of current businesses, which have optimization problems beyond the capabilities of standard computing.
Nikhil Malhotra, Chief Innovation Officer at Tech Mahindra, has said that with the explosion of data dimensions, there is an urgent need for sophisticated, scalable models.
“Our collaboration with Strangeworks brings together quantum and quantum-inspired capabilities with Tech Mahindra’s engineering and domain expertise to address these challenges,” Malhotra said.
“This partnership will enable our customers to accelerate decision-making, improve efficiency, and adopt future-ready optimization solutions with confidence.”
The operational model is clearly defined, with each partner contributing distinct assets. Strangeworks will make its quantum and quantum-inspired AI platform available, including backend optimizers and managed cloud access to other quantum hardware providers.
This is a hardware-neutral platform that will allow Tech Mahindra to develop and deploy highly customized, industry-specific solutions, ensuring a standardized, scalable approach for enterprise clients seeking optimization in the future.
Training engineers to scale quantum-ready applications
Beyond theoretical research, the alliance focuses intensely on practical application and skill development to implement real-world solutions.
Strangeworks will train Tech Mahindra engineers on its software systems and offer access to quantum computer providers as a managed service. This upskilling project is designed to develop the technical knowledge needed to produce, verify, and scale quantum-ready applications for shared customers.
The alliance intends to operate across a wide range of high-impact industries, including finance, pharmaceuticals, supply chain management, logistics, insurance, and energy.
The companies will offer highly tailored solutions to address greater uncertainties, enabling real-time decision-making by collaborating with other companies to discover individual customer needs.
As Strangeworks’ Director of Sales and Marketing for India, Sri Lanka, and the Middle East, Pathy Iyer said, “This collaboration will significantly benefit customers seeking process optimization and looking to implement quantum-based solutions.”
This partnership supports Tech Mahindra’s proven vision to help businesses explore and realize the disruptive potential of new quantum technologies in delivering real business results.
