Tech pro demand in UK increased for the first time since pandemic

The demand for tech professionals in the United Kingdom (UK) increased for the first time since the pandemic started with 10% for the first half of 2021, according to the latest UK Tech Talent Tracker from professional services firm Accenture.
Analyzing LinkedIn’s Professional Network data, the tracker recorded a 93,000 increase in tech jobs openings in July 2021 from January’s 85,000.
Open roles in quantum computing saw triple-digit growth at 157% and those in blockchain soared by 72%. Meanwhile, jobs in digital ethics and responsibility also increased by 27% as organizations focus on governance and respond to data privacy regulations,
Accenture UK & Ireland Technology lead Shaheen Sayed said that the “investment in new software and machinery” and the new hybrid work model are the ones driving the demand for tech employees.
Sayed added that they are expecting an intense “war” for tech talent as businesses accelerate their digital transformation and “industries become permanently digitized.”
