Tech sector set to raise need for office space in APAC

The technology industry is driving the demand for office leasing in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Over 45% of the sub-markets in leading and upcoming categories are from the cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Pune, setting Indian office real estate to retain its competitive advantage over its APAC peers in the next five years.
“Given the increased use of technology within the workplace and a more flexible approach from companies, we expect 20% to 25% of the workforce to be able to work from anywhere over the medium-to-long term,” reported property advisor Colliers.
Oddly, the past year has seen global tech companies support and adopt work-from-home and hybrid workplace models, bringing an overall uncertainty in leasing volumes of office space both in India and around the world.
