TMF Group bolsters offshore services via Studio Ripamonti acquisition
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, and MILAN, ITALY — Global administrative services firm TMF Group has acquired Milan-based Studio Ripamonti, a strategic move to deepen its foothold in the Italian market and enhance its international compliance and outsourcing portfolio.
The acquisition integrates Studio Ripamonti’s specialized local expertise in payroll, HR, and tax services with TMF’s extensive platform that also offers offshore services.
TMF expands Italian payroll services
By integrating Studio Ripamonti, TMF Group directly gains a specialized local operation with an established client base of over 400 entities, including international financial institutions and corporate clients.
Studio Ripamonti leverages years of specialized labor consultancy, tax compliance services, and payroll expertise to anchor its position as a critical administrative partner for businesses navigating complex workforce management.
This move is not merely additive but is framed as a strategic enhancement of TMF’s existing Italian business, allowing it to offer a more robust suite of services on the ground.
The leadership of TMF Group explicitly links this deal to its broader European growth strategy. Jan Willem van Drimmelen, TMF Group’s Head of Europe, notes, “This acquisition is an important investment in our robust and growing business in Italy, adding [specialized] capabilities and broadening our ability to support clients with our local expertise backed by our truly global platform.”
Julian Dietz, Head of Italy at TMF Group, also emphasized that the shift is part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the primary jurisdictions and to leverage local expertise to serve its clients better.
Local HR expertise, global reach
The transaction is fundamentally positioned as creating a partnership between Studio Ripamonti’s high-value local knowledge and TMF Group’s global offshore platform.
TMF Group, headquartered in Amsterdam and operating in over 87 jurisdictions, provides a worldwide network of 11,000 experts across compliance, accounting, HR, payroll, and entity management.
The acquisition infuses this global platform with deeper, specialized Italian capabilities in labor consultancy, accounting, and tax services.
This move is highlighted as the primary value proposition for existing clients of both firms. “By combining Studio Ripamonti’s expertise with our global reach, we are uniquely positioned to deliver seamless, high-quality services to our clients,” explained van Drimmelen.
For Studio Ripamonti, the benefit is access to TMF’s international reach while maintaining the local service standard, a point underscored by Studio Ripamonti’s Head of Business, Giuseppe Peviani.
