TUCP urged DOLE to probe the ‘no jab, no pay’ scheme

The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) is requesting the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to investigate the enforcement of the “no vaccine, no salary” scheme in several establishments in the country.
TUCP President and party-list Rep. Raymond Mendoza said that they are ready to provide the department with the names of the companies that are implementing this rule to their employees.
Mendoza also urged DOLE to issue another labor advisory that clearly outlines the “fines and imprisonment imposable” on employers who are withholding the salaries of unvaccinated workers.
This comes after several employees from different industries reported to the TUCP that they did not receive their salaries because they do not have vaccination cards.
Mendoza stated that this scheme is unlawful and is in violation of Article 116 of the Labor Code.
DOLE had already issued a labor circular last March 12 warning employers against firing and discriminating employees who are against vaccination.
