Turkmenistan boosts IT sector to power digital evolution

ASHGABAT, TURKMENISTAN — The Turkmenistan government announced its plans to strengthen its cybersecurity and train a new generation of IT specialists to catalyze its digital transformation.
During a recent government meeting, Agency for Transport and Communications Director General Mammetkhan Chakiyev said that advanced digital technologies are already being introduced in Turkmenistan under its digital economy development concept.
The country has established an information center focused on cybersecurity as digitalization efforts accelerate nationwide.
Simultaneously, nationwide initiatives are underway to cultivate digital skills among citizens to equip them to participate in the digital economy. The government is also expanding IT training and education programs through partnerships with international organizations.
Investments in high-tech infrastructure, increased broadband Internet access, and IT talent development fuel the growth of Turkmenistan’s IT industry.
