UCrest and StayOnline collab to digitize healthcare in Africa
MALAYSIA and RWANDA — UCrest Berhad, a Malaysian technology company, has partnered with StayOnline, a Rwanda-based digital payment and business process outsourcing firm, to digitize healthcare in Africa using artificial intelligence.
By leveraging AI and digital technologies, the UCrest-StayOnline partnership aims to increase access to quality, affordable healthcare across the African continent.
Under the agreement, both companies will integrate their payment gateways, which support millions of users, into UCrest’s iMedic digital health e-commerce platform, which serves Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia.
This will provide users with access to medical service providers in multiple countries, including the United States, Europe, China, Singapore, and others.
Additionally, the partnership will establish a Centre of Excellence to drive research and development in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and AI applications for healthcare.
It will collaborate with universities, research institutions, startups, and medical technology companies.
“This partnership with StayOnline Ltd marks the beginning of the digital health era in Rwanda and Africa, with the use of AI and IoMT technologies in providing healthcare services,” said Eg Kah Yee, UCrest’s Chief Executive Officer.
“It will elevate healthcare to the next level, with a high degree of automation and efficiency,” he told The Star.
UCrest’s iMedic telemedicine platform is partnered with Singapore’s Ministry of Health and is integrated with the nation’s Community Health Assist Scheme.
