Uganda picks 5 BPO players as representatives in Dubai Expo 2020

Uganda’s Ministry of ICT & National Guidance named the innovators and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) practitioners that will represent the country in the Innovation Week at the Dubai Expo 2020.
The theme — “Discover Africa’s Innovation Powerhouse” — is aimed at highlighting Ugandan talent and excellence to attract foreign players to the country.
Among everyone who participated in their campaign, the team that will represent the country at the Dubai Expo includes Allan Rwakatungu of fintech company Xente App; Martin Mukama of mobile platform Protecting Infants Remotely by SMS (PRISMS); Hareesh Sahadevan for software outsourcing and BPO provider Emvigo Technologies; Lydia Nakayenze of natural cosmetic oils developer Oncaplanta; and Mohammed Muwonge of research-based tech firm Badaye Technologies Limited.
Addressing the media at the UICT Innovation Hub in Nakawa on Tuesday, the Permanent
Ministry of ICT & NG Permanent Secretary Dr. Aminah Zawedde thanked all their partners and the company who submitted in their search and vowed that their show the world that “Uganda is Africa’s Innovation Powerhouse,” she concluded.
While in Dubai, the chosen innovators will be able to meet different businesses and government representatives, as well as showcase the “value proposition of Uganda to the world to enhance investment, tourism, and trade.”
Dubai Expo 2020’s Innovation week will run from March 22 to 27.
