UK-based analytics start-up to expand in SA

Predictive analytics start-up Ramp announced its expansion in Cape Town, South Africa to gain access into the country’s local talent pool.
In an interview with ITWeb, Ramp Founders Dan Marcus and Jan Pickard said that the “amazing” workforce filled with “entrepreneurial and hardworking people” is what attracted them to build a center in the country.
The analytics start-up’s SA office will be dedicated to local data analysts who will provide service to clients from the UK and other countries.
Co-founded by Candy Crush pioneer Angus Lovitt, Ramp is a predictive analytics platform that offers companies a software-based model to create accurate forecasts for their business.
Pickard stated that Ramp can help run scenarios and decide on the “optimal investment and business strategy” of companies in different industries.
