UpStream BPO expands to Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN — Malaysian outsourcing company UpStream BPO is expanding its presence in Uzbekistan by establishing a new office in the Syrdarya region.
The move aligns with the company’s strategy to enter emerging markets and capitalize on Central Asia’s economic opportunities.
UpStream will utilize Uzbekistan’s proximity to most European markets to open up more growth trajectories through various initiatives.
Leveraging local Uzbekistan talent for global services
By leveraging Uzbekistan’s talent pool, the company aims to deliver high-quality outsourcing services competitively on a global scale.
UpStream BPO will dedicate the Syrdarya office to critical business functions, such as personnel management, financial technologies, cybersecurity, and general business process outsourcing (BPO) services.
To ensure a smooth integration into the Uzbek market, UpStream BPO representatives met with counterparts from INHA University to discuss collaborative efforts in training local specialists for employment at the new facility.
Additionally, Ahmed Qayyum, UpStream BPO’s founder, met with representatives from MAAB Innovation to enhance cooperation between the two entities.
An agreement was reached to employ MAAB Innovation graduates at the new Syrdarya office, solidifying the partnership through a forthcoming memorandum of cooperation.
Uzbekistan promotes IT outsourcing globally
Uzbekistan isn’t just leveraging its geographical advantages. The country is slated to host the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference 2024 in Berlin, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea, to bolster its market position further.
The Berlin session of the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference, scheduled for April 23, will focus on showcasing Uzbekistan’s booming IT sector to European markets.
Discussions will revolve around on the advantages of outsourcing IT services to Uzbekistan, which is bolstered by supportive government policies and strategic growth incentives.
After the Berlin conference, the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference will continue in Seoul, highlighting the longstanding cultural and economic relationships between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
The Seoul session will explore both countries’ shared values in education, innovation, and technology, which provide a solid foundation for cooperation in the IT and technology sectors.
