US-based BPOs in a “hiring spree” in PH — Malacañang

Three US-based Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) companies have begun expanding their operations in the Philippines, said Malacañang Palace.
In a statement, the Palace revealed that major IT-BPM firms Concentrix, Sutherland, and Alorica would embark on a “hiring spree” in the country within the next months.
Specifically, Concentrix is expected to open at least 30,000 new jobs for Filipinos. Sutherland is eyeing to hire 15,000 personnel for its planned expansion in the Ilocos Region, the provinces of Tacloban and Aklan, and the cities of General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Lucena. At the same time, Alorica is looking for 11,000 new employees.
“The DTI said that the local IT-BPM industry reacted positively to the statement of the President [Marcos, Jr.] during his roundtable meeting with the chief executive officers in the IT-BPM sector in New York City last September,” the Palace stated.
Malacañang added that the DTI secured a commitment from IT-BPM primary trade and advocacy groups to increase seats and jobs of at least one million in the country.
The sector’s promising growth was said to be a product of its global leadership in voice-based services and continuing improvements in non-voice and complex process outsourcing.
