U.S. companies transform HR with advanced outsourcing technologies

CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES — Enterprises across the United States are revolutionizing their human resources (HR) operations by leveraging modern outsourcing solutions.
According to a new report by Information Services Group (ISG), companies are adopting innovative technologies to meet strategic goals, enhance decision-making, and improve employee experiences.
AI-driven HR transformation
The report emphasized that U.S. firms are reimagining multiprocess HR outsourcing (HRO) in response to technological advancements and evolving client demands. This shift is particularly significant given the complexities of employing workers in the U.S., such as navigating health care and compliance issues.
Stacey Cadigan, partner at ISG, noted, “The HR environment is constantly changing, with rising costs and new employee expectations. Organizations that partner with providers can survive and thrive by adapting to these conditions with the help of technology-enabled solutions.”
HR’s strategic role in business success
Historically, multiprocess HRO aimed to streamline transactional HR activities to boost efficiency and cut labor costs. However, the role of HR is now expanding beyond back-office functions to become a strategic driver of business outcomes.
Companies are increasingly assigning HR staff to specialized and strategic roles rather than routine tasks. HRO providers facilitate this evolution by offering solutions that emphasize automation over offshoring savings.
Harnessing AI for improved HR operations
The integration of next-generation technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI), is a key focus for U.S. enterprises adopting new HRO services. These technologies provide HR and business leaders with enhanced information capabilities and deliver personalized employee experiences across various devices and locations.
Jan Erik Aase, ISG’s global leader for Provider Lens Research, stated, “Service providers and clients together have already identified multiple use cases for GenAI. With technology advancing this quickly, it is time for companies to transform HR.”
Emerging trends in HR outsourcing services
In addition to AI advancements, the report explores other trends reshaping the HRO landscape in the U.S., including outcome-based pricing models and improved integration with health insurance carriers. The study evaluates 22 providers across two key areas: Multiprocess HR Outsourcing Services and Health and Welfare Benefits Administration Services.
Prominent leaders identified in the report include Alight, Accenture, and IBM, among others. Aptia and Infosys are also recognized as Rising Stars for their promising portfolios and potential for future growth.
As U.S. firms continue to navigate the complexities of modern HR management, the adoption of advanced outsourcing solutions positions them for improved business outcomes and operational performance.
