US insurance carriers turn to outsourcing post-pandemic

Insurance carriers in the United States are turning to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) providers to meet rising customer expectations post-pandemic.
In a report by technology research and advisory firm Information Services Group (ISG), American insurers need help from outsourcing agencies after a huge pandemic-induced employee turnover.
Carriers are also looking to build and grow their online sales channels, cut costs and optimize processes through outsourcing.
ISG Americas partner and insurance industry lead Paul Schreiner said that unsrance carriers needed “mobile applications that deliver a first-class customer experience” during the pandemic to help them build and grow their online sales channels, cut costs and optimize processes.
Aside from services expansion, carriers are facing increasing competition from traditional and new competitors, such as Insurtechs, as well as cybersecurity concerns and data handling challenges.
