US President Biden met tech leaders to address cybersecurity

US President Joe Biden held a meeting with the country’s tech leaders in a bid to find a solution to the rising cyber incidents in the country.
During the conference, the White House released a statement pointing out the nearly half a million cybersecurity jobs left vacant across the US, making the industry vulnerable to attacks.
In response, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has agreed to release to the public the security awareness training that it offers to its employees.
Additionally, Microsoft will set aside US$170 billion to provide advanced security solutions to federal agencies and local companies. IBM and Google also pledged to spend billions of dollars to help Americans develop their cybersecurity skills.
American nonprofit organization Code.org plans to train three million people in cybersecurity over the next three years, while the University of Texas System and Whatcom Community College also made similar commitments to help the government deal with the crisis.
The White House is encouraging businesses and government agencies to prioritize their cybersecurity as several government contractors —such as Solarwinds and Colonial Pipeline — recently fell victims to high-profile cyber attacks.
