USAID assists PH cybersecurity efforts

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is extending its technical expertise assistance to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to help reinforce the country’s cybersecurity efforts.
Through the Better Access and Connectivity (BEACON) project, USAID and the DICT will conduct cybersecurity proficiency training for government IT professionals.
Both firms will hold Cybersecurity Proficiency Improvement Training (CPIT) webinars monthly to discuss practical topics from the different domains of cybersecurity, which will enhance the knowledge and skills of IT and cybersecurity professionals.
The USAID is also helping the DICT pursue its efforts to build a resilient national broadband network and tap satellite technologies as it seeks to make Internet accessible throughout the Philippines.
