TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN — Uzbekistan is making strategic moves to position itself as a key outsourcing destination for global IT firms, with high-level discussions now underway with Japanese technology company CROSS CAT

Officials from both nations highlighted Uzbekistan’s efforts to use its restyled digital economy, improved tax benefits, and qualified labor to draw investment from abroad in technology.

Uzbekistan offers competitive advantages for IT outsourcing

The country is actively promoting its business-friendly policies, including tax exemptions and specialized IT visas, to international technology companies.

Recently, at the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference, Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, pointed out to CROSS CAT’s leadership that the country’s IT workforce is increasing and its infrastructure is still expanding.

As Japan is short of IT specialists, Uzbekistan is making itself an ideal partner for offshoring work. Officials suggested that CROSS CAT either create a local office or work with IT businesses in Uzbekistan to outsource software development and other tech services.

In addition, the government encouraged the company to join the Government Business Services Forum in Tashkent, which will give it the chance to explore other regional opportunities.

CROSS CAT expansion aligns with Uzbekistan’s digital goals

With $102 million in revenue, CROSS CAT’s focus on developing software, business intelligence, and staffing solutions for IT projects meets with all the main targets for Uzbekistan’s digital plans.

If the company operates in Uzbekistan, this opens doors for opportunities, creates jobs, raises the level of local skills, and improves the local industry for outsourcing.

A partnership with a well-established Japanese company like CROSS CAT would not only bring investment but also validate Uzbekistan’s emergence as a competitive player in the global IT outsourcing market.
