Dutch tech firm VANAD acquires sports analytics company SciSports
ZEIST, NETHERLANDS — VANAD Group has acquired SciSports, marking its first venture into the sports-tech space, aligning with its expertise in IT and customer experience.
While terms of the merger were not disclosed, it aims to accelerate SciSports’ expansion in Europe and North America.
Strategic leadership and vision
VANAD Group, a family-owned enterprise employing over 1,500 people worldwide, brings substantial financial backing and technological expertise to the partnership. The company offers business solutions in software and communication technology, which often includes outsourcing services related to customer experience and technology development.
This expansion will benefit from VANAD Group’s founder Ad Nederlof’s extensive Silicon Valley experience, gained during his tenure as President & CEO of Genesys, which Alcatel acquired for $1.8 billion in 2000.

Meanwhile, SciSports, headquartered in Europe with operations in North America, specializes in data analytics and artificial intelligence for sports organizations, providing insights that support decision-making, which can involve outsourced analytical services.
The acquisition maintains continuity in leadership, with Vincent van Renesse van Duivenbode remaining as SciSports’ CEO.
Leveraging technology for growth
VANAD Group’s portfolio includes various technology-focused companies such as VANAD Engage, Tangelo Software, and QuandaGo. SciSports complements this ecosystem with its specialized sports analytics platform, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide actionable insights for football organizations.
“This acquisition represents an exciting step into the sports world, blending our IT expertise with a state-of-the-art software platform,” said Nederlof.
“This partnership allows us to deepen our existing relationships, invest in cutting-edge product innovation, and take our solutions to a broader audience,” added van Renesse van Duivenbode.
