Virgin Media to outsource call center services to Sitel

British telecommunications company Virgin Media will outsource its telesales and retention teams to contact center company Sitel.
Virgin announced that their workers will continue to exclusively sell Virgin Media products and services under the supervision of Sitel.
The telecom’s teams from the English cities of Teesside, Manchester, and Sheffield are expected to be affected by the decision.
Virgin said workers will transfer under TUPE arrangements which will ensure contractual terms and conditions will remain as they are.
Sitel also ensured workers that after the transfer, they will continue working in the same teams, in the same buildings, and receiving the same pay and contractual benefits that they do today.
A Virgin Media O2 Spokesperson said that the partnership will protect jobs and create long-term opportunities for their salespeople.
As a result of this change, almost all sales roles are being protected, and transferring employees’ pay and contractual terms and conditions will be fully protected.
