Virtusa acquires Sincera to enhance telecom AI capabilities

MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — Virtusa Corporation has announced the acquisition of Sincera Technologies—a move aimed at deepening its telecommunications domain expertise and accelerating AI- and data-driven transformation services for global communications clients.
Expanding Virtusa’s telco domain expertise
The deal brings Sincera’s flagship low-code, no-code data management platform, 1Data, under Virtusa’s umbrella, enabling end-to-end data integration, analysis, and actionable insights across legacy and 5G network infrastructures.
“Sincera’s extensive telecommunications domain expertise and proven client success stories make this acquisition a perfect strategic fit,” said Sanjay Deshpande, North America Head of Banking, Communications, and Emerging Industries at Virtusa.
Virtusa is a publicly traded provider of digital engineering and technology services to Forbes Global 2000 companies across various sectors, including financial services, healthcare, media, and communications.
In fiscal 2023, Virtusa generated approximately US$1.8 billion in revenue and employed some 35,000 professionals across 50 locations worldwide. Virtusa’s “Engineering First” approach emphasizes agile, execution-focused teams that address both strategy and implementation, driving quality outcomes at lower costs.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire, Sincera Technologies specializes in software development and digital transformation for clients across the telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, retail, and manufacturing sectors. With approximately 68 employees spread across North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa, Sincera reports annual revenues estimated between US$5 million and US$25 million.
Integrating Sincera to Virtusa’s service offerings
According to Virtusa, integrating Sincera will expand its service offerings in business automation, network infrastructure optimization, OSS/BSS systems, and edge computing implementations.
Sanjay Jain, CEO of Sincera, added, “Joining Virtusa allows us to leverage our telecommunications expertise with global delivery capability and reach a broader base of clients in the communications industry”.
The acquisition positions Virtusa to capitalize on the telecom sector’s digital transformation wave, offering clients a combined portfolio of engineering, cloud, AI, and data solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sincera is Virtusa’s second M&A deal this year. In May, the company also acquired Mav3rik, an Australian Salesforce and MuleSoft advisory and implementation partner, as part of a broader strategy to deepen its footprint in the Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) and greater Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.
