X to introduce job search feature
CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Social media giant X, formerly Twitter, is reportedly launching a job search feature, positioning itself as a rival to job platforms LinkedIn and Naukri.com.
Inspired by WeChat, X CEO Elon Musk Musk aims for the company to be an all-inclusive platform for users.
Soon, verified organizations on X can list job openings, capped at five per entity.
Notably, the XHiring handle has started posting job vacancies, accessible only to web users in the United States (U.S.).
Chris Bakke, former CEO of job-matching platform Laskie that Twitter acquired in May, responded to a user asking how they will know who is hiring.
Bakke wrote, “Job search, but more importantly– matchmaking to qualified opportunities — both coming soon.”
Meanwhile, X phased out its pioneer ad format, which once enabled direct account promotions on timelines.
Although this method brought in around $100 million globally, the company seeks fresh promotional avenues. The phased-out “Followers Objective” ads formerly showcased promotional tweets on users’ feeds irrespective of follow status.
