Zoom launches agentic AI-powered app for frontline workers

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Zoom has rolled out Workplace for Frontline, a new AI-driven mobile app designed to streamline shift communications and task management for healthcare workers and other frontline teams.
AI-driven shift management for frontline workers
Zoom’s new application uses agentic AI to automate on-shift communications, creating real-time chat groups for teams and providing push-to-talk features for quick coordination.
For healthcare workers, this means faster handoffs and reduced time spent on shift transitions, a major pain point in clinical settings.
The application also generates shift summaries, helping managers track completed tasks before new shifts begin. While it doesn’t replace workforce management systems, it integrates with existing platforms, ensuring seamless scheduling and team connectivity.
Expanding AI in healthcare with partnership
The company’s investment in AI extends beyond frontline tools; its partnership with Suki, an AI clinical assistant, enhances telehealth workflows.
The collaboration allows clinicians using Zoom’s platform to auto-generate visit notes, which can then be sent directly to electronic healthcare records (EHR) with one click.
At HIMSS25, Zoom also debuted an ambient notes feature in Workplace for Clinicians, further automating documentation.
“Video will be a critical interface in the AI-driven world,” said Punit Soni, Suki CEO, highlighting the push toward hands-free, AI-assisted care.
The bigger picture
With frontline workers making up 80% of the global workforce, Zoom’s move signals a shift toward digitizing non-desk roles. As AI integration deepens, it is expected that more tools will be aimed at reducing friction in real-time, on-the-ground workflows.
