80% of employees expect remote work to continue post-pandemic

Over 80% of employees are expecting companies to allow them to work remotely for a few days a week even after the pandemic, according to global software company beqom’s Employee Expectations in Hiring report.
The study, which was conducted with 1,000 participants, shows that remote working and flexibility are among the top priorities of job seekers for their future employment.
About 82% of respondents said that they expect flexible working hours from their jobs, while 65% are willing to receive a lower salary in exchange for remote work and flexibility.
In addition, 77% of job applicants are interested in accepting a lower wage than the standard market salary if the employer offered remote work, flexible working hours, and a higher number of paid-time-off.
Meanwhile, 68% are open to taking on a low-paying job if the company is “transparent about its pay benchmark” and shows fairness to the applicants.
