LAGOS, NIGERIA — Nigeria’s federal government is opening 50,000 free business process outsourcing training places for young people across six South-West states, with successful trainees to receive industry-recognized certification and connections to Nigerian and international employers seeking remote delivery.
The program is delivered through the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Programme, implemented by the Bank of Industry with co-financing from the African Development Bank, Agence Française de Développement, and the Islamic Development Bank.
iDICE program opens BPO training slots across 6 South-West states
According to a report from BusinessDay, the iDICE programme allocates 10,000 training places to Lagos and 8,000 each to Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti, giving each South-West state a dedicated pipeline for business process outsourcing (BPO) workforce development.
Training covers customer service, data entry, data annotation, data analysis, virtual assistance, finance administration, digital marketing, content writing, graphic design, information technology (IT) helpdesk support, and technical support, delivered over four to eight weeks through virtual and hybrid platforms.
Participants who complete the program will receive industry-recognized certification and placement connections with employers in Nigeria and with international clients who hire Nigerian workers for remote delivery.
Ethica Resolve Nigeria Limited, one of the two delivery partners for the programme, said the initiative builds on its track record of placing BPO-trained Nigerians with employers operating domestically and internationally.
Federal government signals BPO as a strategic youth employment channel
The program targets young people aged 15 to 35 residing in the South-West states, with a minimum qualification of an SSCE or equivalent and a valid National Identification Number.
At least 40% of the available 50,000 training places have been reserved for women, and the iDICE programme will conduct targeted outreach to young people who are not in employment, education, or training, and to persons with disabilities.
The iDICE programme said applications will close on September 30, 2026, or earlier if all available places are filled, and that participation is entirely free with no charges at any stage of application, training, certification, or placement.
For BPO providers and buyers tracking Africa’s offshore delivery capacity, Nigeria’s iDICE programme signals that government-backed workforce development is scaling alongside private sector BPO expansion.
South Africa and Nigeria both entered global top-10 outsourcing destination rankings in 2026, and federally funded training pipelines at this scale represent a structural effort to match rising employer interest with a certified domestic talent base.
