TTEC opens Volkswagen UK customer experience operation in Cairo

- TTEC launched a Cairo customer experience operation for Volkswagen Group UK.
- The launch is part of a seven-year collaboration between TTEC and the automaker.
- TTEC supports 11 languages in Egypt.
- TTEC plans to add 3,500 Egypt employees by 2029.
CAIRO, EGYPT — TTEC is adding Volkswagen Group UK’s customer care to its growing Cairo operation, as the U.S. customer experience provider leans on Egypt’s multilingual workforce to serve European brands. The new operation, covering digital and voice channels, is part of a seven-year strategic collaboration between the two companies announced earlier this year.
A multilingual hub for automotive care
The Cairo team will combine TTEC’s multilingual staff, automotive expertise and AI-enabled customer experience tools, according to a TTEC announcement on Sept. 22. The wider agreement covers customer care, case management, connected vehicle support and digital engagement.
“The launch of this operation in Cairo with TTEC gives us access to skilled talent and capabilities that will help us deliver consistent, high-quality support as our customer needs continue to evolve,” said Chris Stevens, Volkswagen Group UK head of customer management.
Cairo joins a network of teams the automaker already runs across several locations.
Egypt as a delivery hub
For TTEC, the program deepens a bet on Egypt that began in 2023 and now includes a facility in Maadi Technology Park. Its Egyptian teams support 11 languages, including Arabic, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, across customer experience, technical support, AI-enabled services and back-office work.
“Cairo has quickly become a key hub for multilingual global CX, and we’re excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Volkswagen Group UK in Egypt,” said John Abou, CEO of TTEC Engage.
TTEC describes Egypt as a strategic hub connecting Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in 2025 it announced plans to add 3,500 employees there by 2029. The company did not disclose the size of the Cairo team or the value of the agreement.
For European brands, Cairo offers multilingual support in a time zone close to the U.K. and continental Europe. Buyers moving customer experience work there should test language quality per channel and check how AI tools hand off to live agents.
A long-term, multichannel contract like this one also shows automakers treating contact center partners as part of the ownership experience, not just a cost line. Firms comparing providers in the country can start with the top BPO companies in Egypt.
