Uber opens 2nd hub in PH to support global customers
Ride-hailing giant Uber continues to operate in the Philippines, although it has completely sold its business to rival Grab. Recently, the US-based company opened its second global hub in the Philippines, in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, with a USD1.5m investment. The firm’s new Clark Center of Excellence (COE) will house teams that will provide specialized support for critical incidents that require immediate attention. The teams will support millions of customers across the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, the company said. It was in 2015 when Uber opened its first COE in Manila, which now employs over 1,000 workers. The COE in Clark will provide support via email, phone, video chat, and social media to customers during and after their rides. Uber’s two COEs in the Philippines will specifically provide 80% core support solutions and 20% scaled global solutions for 223 cities across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
