Outsourcing firms in Tampa Bay close offices, cut jobs

This year, Tampa Bay, Florida in the US has been a witness to several job losses at outsourcing companies that have selected it as their headquarters or expansion location. Among the outsourcing firms that will close their facilities and/or slash jobs are Cognizant Technology Solutions, Alorica, Concentrix CVG Corp., and 24-7 Intouch Inc.
New Jersey-headquartered Cognizant will close its facility in February next year, laying off a total of 556 employees. Process executives for data, composed of 418 staff, will be the largest group that will be affected by the job cuts. California-based Alorica will also shut down its Tampa call center in March 2020, affecting 487 workers, including operations customer service representatives, operations CRS leads, operations team managers, and operations staff. Concentrix, another California-based business services firm, will terminate one of its client programs in January 2020, which will lead to 245 job losses that include adviser and manager roles.
Meanwhile, 24-7 Intouch in March axed customer service representatives as well as upper management and leadership roles, totaling 203 workers, at its Clearwater campus
