IT-BPO industry listed highest number of job opportunities during pandemic
Online employment firm JobStreet revealed that a few key industries are still ramping up hiring despite the COVID-19 pandemic, led by the information technology (IT)-enabled services and business process outsourcing (BPO) sectors.
The IT-BPO industry posted a total of 22,795 job opportunities on the platform from March 15 to April 30, which took up 41 per cent of the total hiring opportunities on the online employment site. This was followed by government job postings that accounted for a 15 per cent share, and education and healthcare sectors, both with nine per cent.
JobStreet Philippines country head Philip Guoca said that candidates are mostly looking for part-time, freelance and home-based jobs, noting that three million fresh graduates are looking to join the workforce.
