83% of IT leaders considering outsourced security efforts
Eighty-three per cent of US-based Information Technology (IT) leaders are considering outsourcing their security operations to managed services providers (MSPs) this year, according to a survey by cloud provider Syntax.
Majority of IT leaders (89%) said that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated their firm’s digital transformation last year. Syntax Chief Architect Marc Caruso stated that the pandemic “presented unparalleled challenges for businesses of all industries and sizes.”
Outsourcing has also become an increasingly attractive solution for companies’ security efforts, as 79 per cent of surveyed leaders confirmed that they had to reduce their teams’ headcounts in response to the economic downturn despite the surge in cyberattacks and IT demands in 2020.
