BPOs topped list of active hiring industries in January 2021
Online job portal JobStreet ranked the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector as the top active hiring industry this January 2021, as 23 per cent of the companies recruiting came from the sector.
The BPO industry was followed by the government and defense with 21 per cent; human resources management with 12 per cent); education with nine per cent, and computer software firms with five per cent).
According to JobStreet, job postings have now recovered as the country’s economy gradually reopens amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In the past year, the total jobs in the market declined by 30 percent versus 2019, but JobStreet is hopeful that the job market will continue to recover, as companies are gradually hiring applicants,” said JobStreet country manager Philip Gioca.
