Italian businesses eye PH as priority as it plans Asean expansion

Italian businesses seeking to expand in the Asean region are looking at the Philippines as its top priority, according to Enrico Letta, president of Associazione Italia-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
During the online “Italy-Philippines: Discovering the Opportunities” webinar, co-organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCPI) and Associazione Italia-Asean, Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) Officer-in-Charge Director Lanie Dormiendo then said that the country is continuing to improve its business climate through strategic policy reforms.
This is to make investments easier for investors, further encouraging the flow of foreign direct investments into the Philippines.
Dormiendo also discussed possible opportunities for Italian investors, like garments and textiles. Italy is considered as an important contributor of foreign investments from the European Union (EU) to the Philippines.
