BPOs push for longer WFH plans

The information technology-business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) sector cited the advantages of work-from-home (WFH) and remote work arrangements in the industry, as it pushed for long-term plans of adopting them as part of the hybrid model of their operations.
In a forum, IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) Chair and Accenture Philippines Country Managing Director Lito Tayag said that they have seen productivity for employees with optimized remote models, lesser absenteeism and attrition.
In addition, he cited Accenture Philippines’ experience, which he noted that productivity has improved from 15 to 40 per cent. There were also 1 40 per cent reduction in absenteeism and 10 to 15 per cent reduction in attrition.
Companies can benefit from the 20 per cent potential cost of real estate reduction, while workers can enjoy the less time spent on commuting.
