IKEA PH expansion to hire 500 residents
Swedish furniture conglomerate IKEA is set to hire at least 500 residents in Pasay City, as it starts its Philippine operations in the third or fourth quarter of the year.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano said that the IKEA expansion and its plan to hire 500 residents “is a good opportunity for many of our countrymen who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.”
This is IKEA’s first physical store in the country, which is set to be its largest store in the world.
