Quarantine not required for travelers from “green” countries
Fully-vaccinated foreign and Filipino travelers will no longer be required to undergo a mandatory facility-based quarantine upon arrival in the Philippines starting October 14 – as long as they’re coming from “green countries,” as announced by Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque. However, travelers may need to provide a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to departure from their country of origin.
In addition, fully vaccinated Filipinos may choose to take an RT-PCR test upon arrival and stay at the quarantine facility until the release of the negative result. Vaccinated foreigners in the Philippines can present their VaxCertPH or Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) or World Health Organization (WHO) issued International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICV) as proof of vaccination status, while foreigners who were vaccinated abroad can present their WHO-issued ICV or the national digital certificate of the foreign government.
As of October 8, the list of “green countries,” or areas with low-risk of COVID-19 include: Mainland China, Hungary, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Turkmenistan, among others.
