BPO to stimulate eCommerce boom in South Africa

The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry is expected to catalyze the growth of the eCommerce sector in South Africa (SA).
In a Cape Business News (CBN) report, SA’s eCommerce market experienced a significant growth amid the pandemic as traditional retailers have developed more robust online sales strategies.
However, it has become a challenge for businesses to source trained and qualified staff due to social distancing requirements, illnesses, and isolation.
According to CBN, a collaborative partnership between warehousing and logistics suppliers and BPO providers can create a “strategically planned process” that is “executed for maximum mutual benefit.”
Moreover, should additional resources be required, BPO providers will be able to assist their partners in scaling the workforce up or down as demand necessitates.
CBN emphasized that agility to rapid market changes has become a hallmark of success in the country. This means that an organized and well-run warehousing provider will have a greater likelihood of survival in SA’s eCommerce space.
