YCC to build world-class data center in PH

Local firm YCO Cloud Centers (YCC) is planning to develop a world-class data center in Batangas, Philippines in order to take advantage of the growing demand for cloud computing services and solutions.
Santos Knight Frank (SKF) Manager for Occupier Solutions and Services and Data Centers Lead Monica Gonzalez said that the new center called YCO Manila Digital 1 will serve the Greater Manila area.
YCC will be partnering with US-based data center advisor and developer Cloud Centers LLC for the project, while real estate services firm SKF was appointed as the center’s regional leasing and marketing agent.
In a statement, YCC CEO Nik de Ynchausti said that the country is “a leading, dynamic technology and digital hub in Asia-Pacific but underserved in terms of state-of-the-art data center and digital infrastructure.”
He stated that their world-class facility would “address interest from enterprises seeking to scale their mission-critical workload in the region.”
Data centers are facilities where servers and equipment are stored to deliver data storage and information technology (IT) services to different organizations.
YCC plans to break ground on the project in early June this year, with the delivery of the first data hall targeted by the middle of 2023’s second quarter.
