IBPAP to launch IT-BPM Industry Roadmap 2028 this year

The IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is set to publish the Philippine IT-BPM Industry Roadmap 2028 this year following the sustained growth in the outsourcing industry.
According to IBPAP, the roadmap will serve as the blueprint for the sector’s priorities in digitization, talent, policy-shaping, infrastructure, and country branding over the next six years.
Among the priorities of the industry roadmap is pushing for legislation that will allow long-term hybrid work in the Philippines.
This has been a focus area of IBPAP in the last few years given its rapid adoption in competing locations such as India, Poland, and Malaysia.
IBPAP said that they are working with the incumbent and incoming governments to lay down the building blocks for a consistent and comprehensive policy on hybrid work and to improve the ease of doing business for new investors.
IBPAP President Jack Madrid said that the launch of the industry roadmap is “very timely” as 2022 brings a new administration in the Philippines and “a new age that will reimagine, rethink, and re-envision everything that we know about the sector.”
