PH COVID-19 daily average up 60%

The Philippines recorded a total of 7,398 new COVID-19 cases from June 27 to July 3, 2022, with a daily average of 1,057 cases.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), this average is 60% higher than the average of 662 cases recorded from June 20 to June 26.
Data also showed that 497 severe and critical cases are currently admitted —- amounting to 8.4% of total COVID-19 admissions across the country.
Of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 15.3% are occupied while 19.9% of the non-ICU COVID-19 beds are in use.
On the vaccination front, the DOH reported that more than 70.7 million individuals — or 78.64% of the government’s target population — have been fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, 15.1 million have already received their booster shots.
Despite the rising cases, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases adviser Dr. Edsel Salvaña said that there is no need to raise alert levels in the country.
The National Capital Region (NCR), along with other key cities, will remain under Alert Level 1 until July 15.
