Iloilo needs more infra to accommodate booming BPO industry
Iloilo City is expected to become the country’s third largest BPO hub by 2025 if more BPO infrastructure is built in the city to attract more players in the industry, according to CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm.
An influx of business process outsourcing (BPO) firms are coming to Iloilo City, but there aren’t enough buildings to accommodate them.
“We are running out of BPO buildings,” said Iloilo city mayor Jerry Treñas in a briefing, inviting leaders in the real estate industry.
Treñas mentioned that he will meet with Leechiu Property Consultancy (LPC) CEO David Leechiu and Colliers Philippines, a leading commercial real estate brokerage professional services and investment management company to discuss the matter.
Giant property firms such as Ayala Corporation, SM Prime Holdings, Robinson Land Corporation, Florete Land, Uygongco Corp., and Megaworld Corp., among others, will also be invited to the meeting.
Last week, Iloilo city mayor revealed that two BPO firms expressed interest in doing business in the city, but that there were not enough available corporate spaces for them.
