Coursera launches AI-related classes, features

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Online course provider Coursera opened more classes and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) features “to meet the growing demand for AI skills in the workforce.”
According to Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda, eight new programs in high-demand areas — such as computer science, data science, and business administration — and three new professional certificates will be added to their catalog.
At the same time, users could access additional generative AI content and two new ChatGPT-powered tools to make learning more interactive and teaching more effective on Coursera.
Coursera is also launching its Coursera Hiring Solutions to help connect learners with entry-level digital jobs worldwide.
Moreover, the online platform is set to translate “thousands of course readings, lecture video subtitles, quizzes, assessments, peer review instructions, and discussion prompts across 2,000+ courses” from English into Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Thai, and Indonesian.
Maggioncalda stated that generative AI “reminds us that relentless change will force everyone to continually learn and adapt.”
“Together with our educator partners, we’re committed to helping learners and institutions turn change and disruption into more equal opportunity for everyone,” he concluded.
