86% of U.S. recruiters value AI expertise vs. college degree
WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES — Around 86% of hiring managers in the United States (U.S.) believe AI expertise, particularly in ChatGPT, can be more valuable than a college degree.
In a poll conducted by the online magazine Intelligent.com, 93% of hiring managers say ChatGPT experience boosts a recent college graduate’s resume, and 95% say ChatGPT is valuable for entry-level candidates to have.
“In positions where a college degree does not provide relevant skill training, we are seeing the importance of having a college degree decline,” said career strategist Stacie Haller.
“It’s quite possible that candidates without degrees may be just as or even more qualified.”
Eric Lee, a co-founder at real estate platform REIInsiders.com, added that the combination of ChatGPT experience and a college degree can make a job applicant “more well-rounded and increase their chances of success.”
Meanwhile, Intelligent.com’s survey also revealed that 98% of companies hiring entry-level candidates require ChatGPT experience for some positions.
Life Grows Green CEO Chad Price said ChatGPT “may very well be part of the future of sales and content creation.”
Fortunately, 91% of hiring managers in the U.S. also stated that their companies provide ChatGPT training for applicants interested in exploring the latest AI technology.
