Developers, employers integrate AI in the workplace — HackerRank

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — A new report by developer skills company HackerRank revealed that developers and employers rapidly embrace artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace.
According to a survey of over 42,000 global developers and an analysis of recent technical hiring data, HackerRank reported that 82% believe AI will redefine the future of coding and software development.
With this expectation, 75% of developers adjust their skills in anticipation of this significant shift.
However, HackerRank’s report also highlights a gap between the AI skills companies need and the skills they’re currently testing in potential hires.
The most in-demand skills for AI-related roles were machine learning, Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, deep learning, and AWS. Companies, however, continue testing for more general and conceptual topics like problem-solving and statistics.
Hacker Rank Principal Product Manager for AI Ankit Arya said that AI’s potential lies in augmenting developers’ skills rather than replacing them.
