Accenture bolsters cybersecurity, procurement with 2 acquisitions

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES and MADRID, SPAIN — Global professional services giant Accenture has acquired two companies—Innotec Security and The Shelby Group—to expand its cybersecurity presence in Spain and enhance its procurement transformation capabilities worldwide.
Accenture acquired Innotec Security, a leading cybersecurity services provider in Spain, for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Madrid, Innotec Security offers cybersecurity-as-a-service, cyber resilience, and cyber risk management solutions.
Previously under the Entelgy Group, Innotec Security brings to Accenture a 500-strong team of experts, boosting its global security workforce to over 20,000.
This move is pivotal as Accenture aims to meet the escalating demand for managed security services in Europe, where 70% of large organization CEOs expressed concern over cyber threats.
Accenture also acquired The Shelby Group, a digital procurement consultancy, for an undisclosed sum. Headquartered in Illinois, The Shelby Group helps clients optimize procurement spend and processes.
The acquisition adds 172 professionals to Accenture’s procurement consulting capabilities.
With The Shelby Group’s expertise in Coupa and Ivalua procurement solutions, Accenture is poised to deliver increased spend visibility, task automation, and risk reduction for clients across various industries.
With a workforce of approximately 733,000 across over 120 countries, these acquisitions align with Accenture’s mission to innovate and add tangible value at speed and scale.
The financial terms for both acquisitions have not been disclosed, but the integrations are expected to solidify Accenture’s leadership in the cybersecurity and procurement domains.
Accenture made 21 acquisitions in 2022 and 25 so far in 2023, according to Crunchbase.
