Virtusa acquires ITMAGINATION, boosts digital transformation, nearshore services

MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES — Information technology services firm Virtusa Corporation (Virtusa) has acquired tech consultancy ITMAGINATION to bolster its digital transformation capabilities and expand its nearshore services.
Expanding nearshore services and technical expertise
Virtusa will offer its deep domain expertise, while ITMAGINATION will harness its technical prowess and local ties. The deal will enable both firms to offer high-value services to clients looking to accelerate their digital transformation.
Additionally, the deal will significantly boost Virtusa’s nearshore delivery in Poland. It will utilize the country’s deep tech talent pool and engineering expertise.
“We are excited to welcome ITMAGINATION to the Virtusa family. Their deep technical expertise and strong track record of delivering transformative digital solutions align perfectly with Virtusa’s vision of empowering businesses to thrive in the digital age,” said Santosh Thomas, Chief Executive Officer at Virtusa.
Founded in 2008, Warsaw-based ITMAGINATION specializes in digital transformation, cloud computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.
The company has established itself as a trusted partner, delivering tailored tech solutions that drive business growth and efficiency across Europe and North America.
Virtusa’s strategic collaboration with Amazon
Earlier this year, Virtusa inked a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with cloud computing firm Amazon Web Services (AWS) to hasten data migration using the latest generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies.
The collaboration aims to cut the migration and modernization processes for its clients from 36 to 18 months.
This revamp will allow AWS to expand and enhance its various tech solutions like Amazon Glue, Amazon CloudFormation, Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
Virtusa, founded in 1996, employs over 30,000 workers in over 25 countries. It provides digital business transformation, digital engineering, and IT outsourcing services.
The firm went public on the NASDAQ Global Market in 2007 and went private after being acquired by Baring Private Equity Asia in 2021.
